What is Mock Location and How to Use It

In fact, is it possible to position as if we were in a place we have never been to or where we were not there at that moment, or to act on applications as if they were there without going to different locations? Yes, it is possible to do this with the “mock location” (also known as “fake GPS”) feature on mobile devices with Android operating system.

Today, thanks to the GNSS (commonly known as GPS) sensors on mobile devices, we can quickly and easily access the latitude and longitude values of your location on Earth. And in this way, we can directly share this location data we obtain or use it within the framework of the possibilities offered by the applications. However, in some cases, we may need to deal with the latitude and longitude data of a different location rather than our current location. E.g; You can use the mock location function when you want to send a friend the location of a place in another city or country, or provide an application with the information that you are in a different location. In this way, you can act as if you were at any point in the world. In particular, by connecting an external GNSS hardware or antenna to your phone, you can enable another application to use the location data you have obtained from this device by using an additional application via mock location.

For this process, you must open the developer mode on your Android device and install one of the applications available on Google Play, and then set this application as your phone’s mock location provider. Those who wish can reach some related applications by clicking here.
